Well, condisering his sentence was handed down by an Iraqi Tribunal, I would say it is probably coincidence.

Greetings Brits, Scots & sons of Erin:
As an emissary from the new world I *naturally* feel it is my resposibilty to step in and clarify this question.
I know you guys are on the old system: something happens, it is reported in the paper, and then everyone knows it.
In between developing showers with water pressure and making the world safe for you guys, us Americans have come up with a new, improved system.
Here in America, if enough people believe something--no matter how improbable--it becomes true. But, because we are a capitalist society it turns out that the more money someone has, the more power their improbable beliefs have.
What we have here is a small group of very wealthy people who believe really hard that Osama Bin Laden should be caught before the mid-term elections. BUT because these really wealthy folk have difficulty distinguishing between Arabs when they are NOT holding campaign contribution checks in their hands--the message got mixed up and instead Mr. Hussein got sentenced.
You see this all the time here. For example, yesterday the New York Times reported that our boys have built a website for the Iraqis that "experts say, constitute a basic guide to building an atom bomb." So let's just keep looking for those WMDs, shall we?
So the short answer to your question is that the odds were 32:7 that something like this would happen.
Best of luck with the plumbing.
Your American Friend

Same coincidence as gas prices lowering weeks before the elections, and Bush telling us that leaders in Iraq feel they aren't short on troops.
