I have always wanted to learn how to DJ. I am complete beginner. Never touched the decks. I will hopefully be signing up for dj-ing classes. I dont really want to produce my own music. I just want to be able to play and mix really well for clubs and private parties.

what do i need to learn to be able to do this and what equipment do I need? what kind of costs am I looking at for the equipment?

This next place has a place for beginners, the most important thing to do is network with other dj's. http://www.djsandproducers.com/forums/index.php
