I presume this is a question from the usa? I would have thought the level of OCD was quite high in this country(Ireland). I think it's a modern malaise; my daughter has it. It's very difficult to treat; in fact notoriously so. Would it have something to do with the fact that the USA has developed it's consumer society to the extent that the only important thing in life is money, and that those among us who are more susceptible to this form of illness are not given the attntion we need when we need it? By the time OCD becomes manifest, the person has probably been ill for quite some time.In this country, it's more likely to develop in people who are living in social and/or emotional isolation

It is that friggin politically correct bullshit... just like adhd.. lets drug our kids instead of working with them.. haha it is the rich folks way of dealing with things.. label it with a medical name.. then they cannot blame themselves.. like no prayer in school.. the only ones that get to speak are the ones who don't want it there. I am not sure what happened there.. Everybody in the world has OCD about something.. Too much emphases put into things.. Why cant we all just live our lives.. ?? My daughter who is 18 now.. counts food in the fridge.. from the days when we were really really poor.. I am willing to bet back in 1800, folks were counting food.. I think the folks giving all the names for things needs to have a name for themselves.. like.. OTONS syndrome.. Obsessive Titling Of Normal **** syndrome....
