If your periods are very regular, you could be concerned about pregnancy after missing just one or two days. If your periods are less regular, it's possible to miss an entire month or two without being pregnant.
It's best to go get a home test just to check. You wouldn't want to do things that might harm the baby, like drinking or smoking, so check just in case. Even if you think you would have an abortion, take care of yourself physically. You don't want to strain your body any more than it already will be, and you never know - you might change your mind.
There are other sort reasons (ranging from stress to cancer) that can cause you to miss your period. If you're late or irregular, and don't know why, see a doctor. You can make an appointment at the Health Department of free clinic in your area if you can't see your family doctor - or if you don't want people to find out. Keep in mind that all doctors, nurses, and medical professionals are bound to strict privacy rules. If you need more information on that, let me know. I deal with Polycystic Ovaian Syndrome and have had irregular periods my whole adult life. I generally take 2-3 pregnancy tests a year, just because I want to be on the safe side.
Let me know if you need someone to talk to. I'd be glad to chat with you via e-mail, messenger, or phone if you want. (I know you don't know me, but sometimes that's easier)
God bless, and good luck!

You cannot judge by how late your periods are, there are many reasons why periods can be missed even for several months. It is better to have a test - you can buy home testing kits.
If you were pregnant, a pregnancy test would show positive a week after the first day of the missed period.

The normal would be 1 week. If you are more than 1 week late you should get a pregnancy test. If the pregnancy test comes out negative (not pregnant) the best advise is to talk to your doctor something else might be wrong.

if u are sexually active whether on birth control or not and u are weeks late for ur period it is very possible u are pregnant and should get a home pregnancy test to see if its positive. these tests are very sensitive and will be able to detect pregnancy up to 3 days before a missed period sometimes. if this is a blessing for u....then good luck!! u should be excited!!

The tests that are available can give you a result a couple of days after your missed period. But there could be other things that has made your period late.

You could be but don't panic yet you're only 3 days late. Go to the pharmacy and get a pregnancy test. Also you may want to be tested for STDs. Relax though, you're probably fine and stress only makes the period later.

You don´t have to wait for weeks to find out. Buy a test a few days after you were supposed to have your period and you will know in two minutes

minimun is 4 weeks, from conception to implantation it takes 3 to 3 1/2 weeks. so anything after 4 weeks you can get a positive test result if you are indeed pregnant.

Modern tests are very accurate. You can test up to three days before your period is due if you buy the right kind.
