Disagree. I don't mind giving my own thumbs down to answers on questions that I'm answering. I only do it if the person is being rude to the asker or extremely inappropriate. And then, it's only because I don't want to see it again, and the thumbs down collapses the answer so I don't have to look at it. This is very handy if the answer in question happens to take up half a page. On my own questions I either set the responses at all answers or click on answers that rated minus 2 or below so I can make up my own mind about them. There should be some way to combat the thumbs down trolls, however. These are people who spend all day cruising through the questions and giving the thumbs down to every answer.

I Really Don't Care Personally I think They Should Get Rid Of The Thumbs Up And Down. But I Do Give Thumbs Up And Down Both For The Fun Of It I can End With 100 Thumbs Down And It Wont Hurt Me What Does It Matter. We Are Basically Giving are Opinions On Subject's Or Trying to Help People With Problems They Have Or Even Helping With Trivia So As For Thumbs Up Or Down WHO CARES

I agree. Some answerers just give other answers a thumbs down because THEY don't agree. The person asking doesn't care if an answerer doesn't "agree" with another answerer.

I disagree. It is unfornuate that their are nuts out there that abuse the thumbs up and even worse the 'report abuse' features, but there has to be a better solution.
I think that Yahoo should track how many 'thumbs up/down's' and 'report abuse' clicks a user has (obviously this would be automated and would just be raw data) and remove the ability to do so for people who make tons of thumbs downs or abuse reports.
This would stop some of the mentally ill trolls and holy rollers.

i agree, but i also would like another option that thumbs up or down are given only when a best answer is selected. that way no one is influenced by the thumbs up or down. with the new feature many good answers are being given thumbs down and not showing if you keep your default setting as it is.

I think it's just fine the way it is. Maybe the fact that you're getting a lot of thumbs down should tell you something...

It's is an interesting idea, but I don't think many askers would be willing to give (thumbs downs) when they have no anonymity?

It is a tool you can choose to ignore or use.
Can't be bothered either way.
To each it's own
Up or down:I couldn't care less.
And the same applies to those stupid violation reports.
Handed out for no obvious reasons.
Who gives a toss?
Well.I don't and it obvious I agree with you.
Have a nice day:Rob.xxxx

Disagree. It's a free country. I can give thumbs up or down to any answer as I feel like it.
