Ok, how about an answer from someone who actually lives there!
Janurary: expect warm mornings - so pack a few t-shirts, chilly afternoon and cold evenings. Temperature in the morning should be around 20-25 degrees and should be in the range of 7-10 at night. In other words, packs a combination of light clothes for the mornings, but make sure you bring a few jackets and a wind breaker for the evening.
Nile cruise is between Luxor and Aswan in southern part of egypt and this means rain is highly unlikely.
Enjoy your trip

The weather in Cairo is always warm or hot and the nights cool, with only two seasons: a very hot summer between May and October, and a mild winter from November to April. Cairo is very dry, receiving on average only about a centimeter of rain a year, but it does have high humidity levels in summer. The city occasionally experiences dust storms brought by the sirocco hot winds that are characteristic of Egypt's climate in the month of April.

During that time of year expect "desert weather" and by that I mean warm during the morning and very cold as soon as the sun sets with an average of 21 mornings and 11 at night. So bundle up because the cold here seems to always go through to the bone.
I truly hope you enjoy your stay in Egypt.

On the Nile it will be even cooler. It might be chilly at night and early mornings, but anyhow, by beginning of February you can enjoy the nice warm morning sun.
Take something heavy for the night, but keep some light stuff for noon.

Very nice. Some clouds, rarely raining, temperature between 18 and 25. Good timing for tourism there. Pack some jeans and sweater, a light raincoat and tshirts. Have a nice trip !
