The easy way is to reverse the divisor.
ie 2/3 divided by 5/9 is the same as 2/3 times 9/5 which is
(2 x 9)/(3 x 5) = 18/15 = 1 & 1/5

dividing fractions is really multiplying by the opposite of the second fraction. so you start with dividing 2/3 by 5/9, then you flip the second fraction to 9/5 and you get
2/3 Times 9/5
then you multiply across 2*9=18
over 3*5=15
the answer would be 18 over 15 but when you simplify you get 6/5.
Hope I Helped!!

To divide any number (including a fraction) with a fraction - you should convert it into a multiplication, by just reversing the denominator.
here (2/3)/(5/9) = (2/3)*(9/5) = 2*3/5= 6/5 = 1.20
(We now that a/b = a*1/b - this is the basis for the above)

Good Lord, what a mess of weird answers. RunningMan's, the first, is correct, but maybe not perfectly clear.
To divide fractions, invert the second and multiply:
(2/3) * (9/5) = 18/15 = 6/5

Very easy, once you've realized what actually needs to be done it'll become your favorite bit in fractions:
if you've got 2/3
------
5/9,
what you have to do is take the bottom fraction, and turn it upside down, and * multiply* by the top fraction.
So in this case the bottom fraction is 5/9,
you turn it upside down, that's 9/5
you *multiply* with the top fraction, i.e 2/3*9/5 = 2*9/ 3*5 = 18/15
and then you reduce it like you always do, in this case to: 6/5

first of all you convert 2/3 into decimal fraction and then 5/9. the 2 answers that you will get are the dividend and the divisor. atlast you can divide them.
there is one more simple method:
solution:
5/9 x 3/2
ans:----
in this method you just have to interchange the nos. in the divisor and then multiply both the nos.
