feminism has been a disater for the human race. There can be no doubt about this. The risk adverse side of the female psyche has lead to the rise of the health and safety culture where conkers are outlawed for example. It also has lead to the culture where no one is to blame for anything and nobody wins or loses. Everyone is equal - except for those stupid men you see in TV adverts and sitcoms.

Without the risk and edge, human progress will stall and collapse. I am not anti-female and I know that woman are better are some things than men- even in traditional male only areas. I know that women have equal value to men but I am totally against the tyrannical beast that is "feminism".

I think that feminism has made a mess of it all.
All that allowing women into the work place has done has reduced wages to an all time low, which employers think is great.
Women have little recourse to law as the only way to get redress is in the industrial tribunal. The IT is very male orientated and therefore does not address the complicated issues surrounded by the reasons that women do not get treated equally within society still. Mainly because the IT was formed and constructed to address male isssues.
The Law cannot be seen as fair until these issues are dealt with properly.
Also women in the workplace, along with sexual freedom has led to fragmentation and the loss of sisterhood. Women now have to face an overload of competition from all walks of life and no matter which type of lifestyle they pursue, will face prejudice. So it has been divide and rule. Women are not a cohesive group and thus have lost power within society. Individual women may make it, but the rest of women suffer much discrimination.
Children are suffering, and my opinion is, that in 10 to 15 years we will face a backlash from the children reared by "professionals" and not their family members.
I have a degree in women's studies but found that the traditional role of women within society ridiculed and derided as unfulfilling. something I found disconcerting and disappointing.
Women have been the backbone of the societies of the world - regardless of their role. This is something that should be celebrated, but this is still not so. A sad note to end on especially as we view Western Society as so enlightened.

I think that most uk blokes are really quite equality minded when it comes to women. When i see some of the older generation out with their wives shopping, then helping with the cooking. Also, young dads pushing the pushchair and taking an interest in their kids. Women in charge at work and going to work is commonplace in the uk- and men seem to quite readily accept that nowadays.

I feel that feminism has won with regards to a choice for women- they now have the same choice as men. If women want to stay at home, have kids and cook for their man and wait on him hand and foot- that's fine- if it is a choice.

I think feminism has done men a favour too. Why shouldn't men be nurses, child minders and house husbands for example? Why shouldn't women play football, be plumbers or firefighters?Everyone should have a choice. There should be no second class citizens anymore.

Yes I do. Feminism has helped women so much! However, I contend we really hurt men a great deal, especially in education. There are people telling society anything associated with masculinity is wrong and bad. As a teacher, I see this and other teachers tell girls they can be CEO's, Presidents and Doctors. While those same teachers tell boys everything about them is unacceptable, “be more like the girls." So, the boys put their heads down and walk away.

What surprises me as a woman(34) is that as we have gained equal rights, some of the things that women used to fight for the right to have been replaced by a complete disregard of these ideas, and that women seem to not only want to be equal to men, but also acquire their worst traits.

Look at all the binge drinking that goes on. How feminine and ladylike is that?? Its great that women now earn more than they used to and have a choice of going out to work, using their brain and getting a career, rather than having to sit at home and clean the house and be a mother, but some younger girls seem to think that feminism means to be loud, brash and as promiscuous as possible. (which I'm sure the guys love!!!), but really shouldn't it be about having self-respect aswell?

I think a lot of men do feel unsure of how to react to women these days, do they make advances, or would it be deemed sexist? If a woman makes advances on them and they decline will she turn into an obsessive, psycho predator? At work I would imagine that they are probably scared of saying a word out of turn, in case they get done for harassment.

I admit that most men still think that all a woman is there for is to have kids, be at their beck and call, keep house and to pander to their 'natural male urges'( which I can guarantee you boys, we are not), but I do wonder exactly how the behaviour of this new breed relates to the original concept of feminism and to whether its message has somehow been lost and misconstrued by later generations of women?

To that end, I'm not at all surprised that men still sometimes consider women to be the weaker sex, because in the main, some of the behaviour women show now is brainless, selfish, devoid of common sense and downright ignorant of anyone elses feelings. I always thought the point of feminism was to show that we were more than a match for them in intellegence and productivity and that therefore we should be afforded the chance to further our lives in positive ways.

Good question. I think it needs a more pedagogical feminism and more serious studies about masculinity, I mean, about diferent ways of being and feel the masculinity. Also it needs a feminism adapted to diferent etnicities because not all etnicities are reproducing exactly the patriarchal puritan model which is the origin of your society.

whats enough? my typical complaint against most of the women i have knows is that they expect that type of control in life. its wonderful if women can be treated with more respect but the feminist movement result, i think, is a valuable principle in life and relationships has been left at the side of the road. women and men are not equal..each has their own strengths and weaknesses.
although certainly women should be treated with respect, these differences should also be treated with respect and factored in to the way relationships are handled. there isnt any thing wrong with a gender based society if both genders have equal opportunity and respect. largely any special interest, escpecially feminists fall short there.

i think of feminism has made greater adult men anticipate their better halves to artwork greater and stay at residing house elevating youngsters much less. individually, i think of this could nicely be a detrimental. There are issues greater substantial in relatives than having greater money. I the feminist push for "equality" has additionally created a feeling from some adult men that ladies must be the two responsible and not have any favoritism. ~

In the civilised countries feminism are no longer needed by men (most of it) but in the other side of the world (like the uncivilised countries) feminism still exist. So I think it depends on the morality...
