Here I am... I don't know what to say. Frankly, this few minutes I traced your info and gathered, you're an Englishman, had been in Vietnam ( i was also there for a short period) and now in Philippines.
Though, we have different backgrounds, sometime it do happen that we agree on some bitter issues. Yes, I am Filipino but I do not go with the noisy Filipinos in the streets of Manila. I hate mediamen talk bad politics and who put bad words into bad politician's mouth. I hate Filipinos who cheer bad people.
I hate movies espousing criminals as heroes. I am Filipino though. I see these are the hindrance of a better Philippines.
As I grow older, I want to see the Philippines seek its economic potentials to greater heights. I want my next generations enjoy the fruits of our glorious quests.
I may be lonesome here but I will continue to sound off and remind Filipinos how to properly behave.

I think there are a few of us here that live in the Philippines, I hail from England, and now live in Cebu.
Those of us that live here or have lived here, give answers from experience, and not copied out of a ten year old book. It is apparent though that our experiences are different.
However hopefuly between us we give worthwhile information.
