Giving birth is very painful but the result is magical. after the baby is born you forget about the pain that you've just gone through. Going through that pain is the best thing to go through just to bring a little life into the world. I have 2 children of my own and if i could have more children I would go through that pain very time like i did with my 2 children

I really enjoyed giving birth. my labour started on a friday night and I gave birth on Sunday morning so it was long and tiring but the pain was bearable. What made it bearable is that the contractions are short and when they are over, there is zero pain. The pain is not like other pain either, it is more of a squeeze sensation. the more you relax, the less painful it is. I also reccomend the pushing stage in a kneel and hold onto the bedhead position. I would NOT reccomend the 'TV style' lying on the back. Heat packs are great.
I was only really hating the last hour as the contractions were so close and strong. It is very tiring.
Pushing stage is a different pain altogether. like a burning feeling but it is very exciting as the baby is coming out.
Having said all this, my friends who have had babies thought it was the worst pain ever and recommend the epidural.
in the end, it is up to you. Better to decide at the moment of labour, most birthing plans get thrown out the window anyway.

i gave birth with no pain meds and it hurt so bad when it was over i said i'm NEVER doing it again. but 5 years later and i'm pregnant, and i'm worried about labor, but i know that i made it thru once so i'll make it through again. it felt like someone was taking sledgehammers to my hip bones and banging them as hard as possible rapidly, that is what the contractions feel like. luckily, there are breaks in between the contractions, but right before you push, the contractions come quickly, and last longer, so it's almost constant pain. i found pushing to not hurt as bad as the contractions. and as SOON as the baby came out, there was NO pain. isn't that awesome! and then you get to look at the beautiful baby you've been picturing for 9 months. i can't wait! (6 weeks pregnant)

The contractions are very very very painful. Its something that you just cant explain though. BUT your mind can help you also. For the whole pregnancy you just have to tell yourself that theres no point worrying because you HAVE to do it. So just dont think about it. Then when the contractions start, you just seem to get through them, It is definately painful but it is so worth it. I recommend the epidural. Im so glad that my fiance asked for mine when he did i really couldnt have done it without one. They are like heaven.
You can still push and all, just dont feel the contractions which are the worst past. They are shockingly bad. Goodluck with your birth, dont try to psych yourself into the pain just try n forget about it until you come to it. Then you deal with it. Youll be great at it, trust me!

It is the worst pain you can imagine. But what gets you through it its knowing your baby will be with you soon.
I recommend an epidural for anyone that can have it! You will still feel a horrible burning sensation in your vagina and the pressure of a watermelon trying to come out of your body but without all the pain of the contractions.

It is not a pain that is easy to describe and varies from person to person depending on pain threshold and interpretation of pain. However, yes it hurts, it hurts pretty bad. It would not be called labor if it were easy but it can be endured, esp, with modern science:)) People can try to tell you what they experienced but as soon as you go through it you think everyone was lying because we each perceive the pain differently.

It is less painful to have your lower lip wrapped around the back of your head and pulled over your eyes than it is to give birth.

It is said some exercise needs to be done, check with a midwife.
The quantam cannot be expressed. But the exercise will definately be helpful.
The diet is also important, unwanted fatty foods should be refrained.
