My daughter was murdered in February.

The killer is in jail and there is still no date set for trial. I can't imagine that he will be found "not guilty" so haven't concerned myself much with that.

I would imagine that prison is probably the safest place for him. Murdering a high school student doesn't make you a very popular person.

Have you spoken with the Prosecutor about your concerns? Do you have Victim's Assistance available to you for free counseling?

You will probably find it helpful to do both of the above. They've helped me. The Prosecutor has been able to educate me about the process sufficiently so that I have a high degree of confidence that he will be found guilty and likely be sentenced to life in prison

Therapy has been helpful to deal with not only the profound grief but also the incredible amount of anger.

I sincerely hope that everything works out for you. Feel free to contact me if you'd like more info or just have somebody to listen.

I lost my nephew earlier this year. He was killed by a man who told police that my nephew was a home invader so the police did not have a reason to search him. While questioning the man and looking around his house they discovered a large quantity of guns and it was at this point the man pulled a pistol from his clothing and shot himself. We did not get the chance to see this man brought to justice.

I hope the jury will do the right thing by you and your family. A sad and unimaginable situation and my heart goes out to you all.

No, thank God. But if I were ever in that situation, let it be known, there wouldn't be a hiding place safe enough for him.

Awful story. And no, you can never predict what happens. Sorry, and good luck
