From 1979 to 1997, policies encouraged Social Inequality. Gordon Brown appears to be tackling the issue with action against child poverty, which in fact has to be directed at poor parents. He might not get the chance to continue however. The opportunity he's afforded us with low interest rates we are squandering with high personal borrowing, just playing into the hands of those who wish to increase Social Inequality.again.

Minimum Wage, Free Nursery care, Increased Child Benefits, Family Credits, plus in the future, Restoring the Pensioners Income Rights. These are just a few and there are many more and all of them would be in jeopardy under a Tory Government.

In the UK - dozens too numerous to be listed here and you only have to look around to see if they've been successful. You have to ask yourself why the term 'area of deprivation' and 'on the bread line are still phrases we hear regularly to answer your question.
