There is an old saying 'Money is the root of all evil' but in reality it is the greed for money that creates the evil. Money, in itself, is merely a token of value used to exchange goods or services. It is these possessions that people covet and the power that goes with the ability to acquire them. In days gone by people would barter by offering things they had in exchange for things they desired. Coinage was introduced to overcome the problems of bartering which was a pretty poor way of trading since to be successful you had to find someone who had what you wanted and wanted what you had. It is man's selfishness and greed that creates the problem. In rich countries like the USA the people there have so much and still want more, their greed is limitless. In poor countries, much of the Third World, where people live from day to day they are just grateful for anything that will help them survive another day. This is necessity, not greed. In the parched famine lands of Africa a whole sackful of dollars will not feed you, but a handful of grain will.

Personally, I'd have to say lack of education is the number one cause of problems in the world, but the love of money is high on the list

Yes.. It's money... Although it's the reason why there's ease in life... It's also at the same time the reason why life is complicated. But the most ironic thing is, we people tend to realize that truly money is complicated but we're the ones who created it.
