I would recommend University of Washington in Seattle, they have a "PhD in Nanotechnology" program. I think they are the only ones in the US to have such program.

I think Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is doing an excellent research in nanotechnology.

I have toured the University of Hawaii at Manoa Campus and they said that they should be leading the world in Nanotechnology.

UM... I'd say CalTech, MIT... the usual haha I know CalTech has a good physics dept, because my dad got his PhD in Applied Physics from there. then again, that was... 20, 30 years ago haha
