Now that the trial is finally over and he has been found guilty (right decision) do you think he should be hung?
My view is that he could then be made a martyr to the 'cause' and this in itself will cause more deaths in Iraq and all over the world. The fantatics will jump on this excuse to carry out their evil deeds. I think he should serve his sentence behind bars for the rest of his life. Sadam will love to be hanged, he will love the anger, hatred that his death will bring on the already smaller minority of shi-ites in Iraq. What do u all think?

He wants to be shot by a firing squad as a miltary man. He is quoted as saying that hangings are reserved for common criminals. Personally, he shouldn't be executed. Its too easy. Let him rot in a tiny cell for the rest of his pathetic life.

This is a no-win situation really. Make him a martyr then the lunatics in Iraq will use it as an excuse to bomb more innocent civilians as well as US and British military personnel. As if they're not managing to cause enough death and destruction as it is! Put him in prison and there'll be more hostage-taking and beheadings in a futile attempt to have him released. I'm not in favour of state-sanctioned assassination but if they'd have killed him off the first time round back in the early nineties things might have been so much better all round.

it is all approximately oil. you do no longer see us invading Cuba or North Korea. I in no way wakened interior the morning feeling threatened by potential of Iraq or Saddam. WMD is a farce. merely an excuse to line the wallet of a few oil barrons from Texas. And Saddam somewhat had greater useful administration over the Iraqi's then we ever will.

You're right he might be made a martyr. But alive in a prison cell he might be a Nelson Mandela for a lot of people too. I'm against his hanging purely because it's barbaric.

If you are speaking English rather than American, Hung and Hanged are perfectly acceptable. Remember English is older than Mercan and surprisingly uses "u" in colour etc.

If he's being hung under Iraqi law then its not really anything to do with the West whatever people say.

I don't feel that it's any of my business.

The judges in Iraq need to make that decision and carry out whatever sentence they impose. It is no more my business if they execute him, than it is their business when Florida (or Texas, or any other US state) decides to execute their criminals.

I think the families of all those he murdered have the right to see him hanged.

If the death penalty wasn't available, we'd all be calling for it in his case.

yes, but I have doubt it will ever happen, he will either die in prison of natural causes or someone sympathetic will get him something to kill himself with, these monsters tend to cheat the executioner, like Milosevic & Goering
