Um... good question. I don't think so though, I find it waaay too hard, I mean, it's against Physics laws... how can someone be suddenly able to 'travel' to the intangible?
I mean, if I wanted to travel let's say to NYC in 1950... how could that be possible if the modern NYC is on that place? How can 10 year old John Smith be there if he's living his actual life as a 66 year old man in the present NYC? It's just not possible.
You may not be able to travel through time, live things once again and change stuff, however, nowadays psychologists can help you 'travel' to YOUR past as a witness. I know of a certain technique (it's something like hypnosis) where you can relive your birth (for example) by working on some areas of your brain where those memories were 'archived', think of it as 'enabling' your subconscious. Maybe you won't be able to travel to ancient Egypt with this, but hey, it's real!

now there's a thought! if you're talking about it in back to the future terms, then maybe. likewise, building a time machine out of a car of some sort. i for one wouldn't rule out any possibility but if it does happen then it'll take place in say the 22nd or 23rd century. we're currently in 2006, and so i''m guessing something like timetravelling could occur in 2150, 2208 for example. like many people i do believe that it is possible to travel back in time, travelling forwards however, is a more complicated matter altogether. but yes, i think time travel will exist for real one day; that what was considered a mere fantasy as we'd seen in many sci-fi films could become reality.
never say never, i'd say!

Well, besides the technological issues,it would take the energy of a star to form a tear(or rip) in space/time.Maybe sometime in the far future we will do it,that is if we don't kill ourselves off first.Though as one answerer has pointed out,if we did, then how come no one is coming back from the future to visit us?
For right now, the only way to travel back in time is through our memories and our imagination.

No. Time machines aer not like cars or mobile phones which didn't exist at one time but exist now. If a time machine existed it would have always existed. Lets say a time machine is built in the year 2500. The person who made it could use it to travel back to this time or any other time. Since no one has come to us from the future we must assume that no one in the future has had the ability to do so.

We cant even invent men's wigs that don't get big laughs yet. So my answer will have to be NO. Think about it If we ever invent time travel in the future then future people would travel back to 2006 and tell us about it, And since this has never happened the human race did not invent time travel.

Believe me, time travel isn't as cool as you think it is. I booked a three week break in 2007 to see Canada win the Rugby World Cup again but at the last minute EasyJaunt cancelled my booking and offered me four weeks in 2006 to resee Saddam Hussein's death sentence verdict and escape from prison dressed as a Coptic nun.
I'm on time travel sickness tablets that make me fade in and out, and Vodafone charge the earth to call 2334...

We used to time travel. But that was tomorrow.
Just mentioning the possibility of changing things in the past has excluded you from travelling with me. Sorry, but them's the rules.

Travelling to the past, no, but travelling forward at an accelerated rate (with no return trip) may be a possibility.

I travel through time by reading books, coupled with imagination. If I were to choose which time in history I would like to go back to, I will visit the beginning of time.
