HE WAS ALWAYS THERE .......ONCE HE WAS NOT KILLED.....
(WHEN SHE TOLD HIM TO NOT SHOW UP AT THE PLACE HE HAD BEEN HIT BY THE CAR ACCIDENT ON THE STREET WHERE SHE WAS SITTING WITH HER MOTHER ACROSS THE STREET FROM WHERE HE WAS GOING TO CROSS)
...THEY JUST DID NOT KNOW EACH OTHER AT THAT TIME....BUT THEY DID IN THE PAST, BECAUSE HE WAS STILL ALIVE THEN.............AND.....WHEN IT WAS CLEAR TO EACH OF THEM , THAT WAS THE CASE...THEY MET AT THE LAKE HOUSE.

He is just about to go after her and then he reads the note from Sandra Bullock and does not go to see her on Valentine's day and instead sees her on Valentine's day in the year 2008....

Same Way She Did, he got older just like she did but they didnt know eachother in her time. Only in the past.
and at the end
she changes where and when to meet her.
and he remembers so really in her time, hes doing that.

Well, he was the one that got hit by the bus...So, she realizes this and prevents it by telling him! She then get's to meet him because he isn't dead...

I had to try and explain it to my mother-in-law as she couldn't get to grasp with it as well!!
