I ran out of oil last night. The burner was turned on for a couple of hours before I realised there was no oil. I tried pushing the reset button on the burner but after about 10 secs it cuts out. How do I get the heating system back up and running again? It is a Worchester Bosch burner.

I'm not sure of this type but, it should have a "bleed" button on it, look around the carburetor, where the lines come together. There should be a button near the bottom. If not you'll have to call someone, the fuel company where you purchase the fuel or if you get another better answer.

red rooster is right, there is a bleed plug on the bottom of your pump,,,you need to get a wrench that fits the plug and loosen 1 complete turn and put a pie pan under it to catch the oil,,, start the oil boiler until the oil comes out in a steady stream and then tighten back up,,,the boiler should come on almost immediately,,,hope this helps,,,oh yeah in case you might not now where the pump is it is where the pipe comes into the boiler,,,the fitting should be slightly under and to the right of the pipe ,,,good luck

firstly you need to top up your tank with some oil , then if you look at the inlet pipe , there should be a connection on it where it joins to the boiler , put a rag under it and slacken off the union until you get the oil coming through . if you have a problem check the oil line out of the tank there may be a low level shut off valve there which needs resetting

once you have this keep resetting the boiler until it lights , it may take a few attempts but will eventually light , get the boiler serviced asap as the jet may well be clogged now as you run out of oil

It's the name of the oil-pump, NOT the boiler, its probably Danfoss., I would suggest that you get a qualified service engineer to install a "tigerloop" which means that NEVER AGAIN will you have this problem, Installation costs circa £70

There should be a bleed fitting on the pump that you open to let the air out and prime the pump
