I have noticed that lately (past few months) my period have changed to be mostly spotting, with only one day of light flow (the second day and then back to spotting for 4 days). It comes one or two days late or early, which is not normal for me as my periods are normally very regular (28 days cycle), and it used to have a fixed pattern (light on day one, heavey on days 2+3, medium on day 4 and again light on day 5, spotting on day 6 and then gone). The colour is usually red-brown.
I think the colour, length, duration of my period, as well as the fact that it comes around the proper time rules out the possibility of implantation bleeding being the cause.
I am 30, married, never been on birth control or any other contraceptive and not pregnant yet. Can anyone please help me understand what else can be the cause of the recent irregularity?.

See your gynecologist. Don't rule out pregnancy.

I'm not sure, but you could be starting the menopause early! Check with your doctor!
