I recall having read that only once during World War II did German and Japanese forces fight together against the Allies, and this was in Madagascar. I have just been looking for more information on this. I have found a lot about the Battle of Madagascar in 1942, but there is no mention of the Germans as participants. Was my original information correct? Were there other military engagements in Madagascar that involved both, and if so, where can I read about them? Thanks for any further information that you might give me.

Madagascar was under control of the Vichy French government in 1942 when the British invaded in order to prevent the Japanese from seizing it. Neither the Germans nor the Japanese were involved in this operation.

German U-Boats did operate in the Pacific and Indian Oceans with Japanese support during WWII.
