Bigger, Brighter and Noisier one than the year before. All gets out of control and stupid when people try and out do each other with bigger and better displays each year.

What was yours like? Or like me can you find a better use for hard earned money. I thought most folk went to organised displays these days..though obviously not where I live they don't.

Lots of people let their fireworks off yesterday as today is Sunday, thus respecting the Sabbath. Which is a somewhat hypocritical if you think about it.

I didn't have a display, but I live high up enough to see most of the diplsys for about 5 miles, which is pretty cool. I did, however, become housebound for the best part of an hour because of a bunch of chav twats downstairs firing roman candles and rockets at each. What's the point of making up all these laws if no-one is going to adhere to them or enforce them?

As a dog owner I really hate this time of year.
I believe that fireworks should only be sold for large displays which should require a license.
Every year the noise of fireworks starts earlier & earlier. My dogs, normally very well-behaved, are scared sh*tless & bark uncontrollably all evening. My neighbours complain loudly about them to me but their kids are the ones letting off the fireworks. This time of year is a nightmare.

in the journey that your digicam has a night mode or perhaps extra desirable, a fireworks mode, use it. If no longer, turn the flash off, use a tripod, use an prolonged shutter velocity and evade shake by skill of utilising the self timer to take the picutre.

We live on an estate and our garden backs onto the local junior school playing field. If you stand in the centre you can see every fire work in the area including the organised displays from a couple of miles away, quite spectacular, safe and free.

Local municipalities get kind of stingy with the fireworks display budget.

If they could hand out sparklers, they would
