Most men out there are used to the... "Oh not bl**dy football again, its all you watch" then after moaning about it for an age they sit down and watch all the soaps on telly... Emmerdale, Coronation street, Eastenders, Home and away, Neighbours... and the list goes on...
Do they not realise we think.."oh god not more soaps, it's all they watch"....

Then theres the bl**dy "x-factor", "Strictly come dancing" and "big brother" which women seem to be unable to drag themselves away from.... this is no worse than footie to men so why do they complain?

Those women who complain about footie on the TV should stop and think... it is no worse than subjecting us to all these soap programs and big brother guff we have no interest in but often have to watch due to the little lady hogging the TV....

Or have I got it horribly wrong again and I'm a fashist pig?

Take care all,
Charlie (The can of worms opener ;o)

actually I agree with you its all rubbish on tv now i've almost given it up for internet anyway. sports is a bit better at least its real and not on purely to wreck our brains and take in gullible women who watch soaps idiotically and those 'reality' tv shows
there all the furthest thing from reality.

I am a HUGE football finatic. Every Saturday, I am glued to the tv or radio for the Husker game. (GO BIG RED!!!!) Then Monday rolls around and a couple of girlfriends and I head to the bar to watch Monday Night Football. My hubby on the other hand, isn't really into football or any sports for that fact. He will watch with me but doesn't get into like me. I have been known to throw things or jump up out of my seat and scream at the tv. I think he has more fun watching me watch than actually watching the game.

I think I must be odd - my feeling is that sports for the most part are mostly for men, played by men. You have to be fair here, what sports played by women (apart from tennis and a bit of golf) are aimed at women. As for soaps, I UTTERLY HATE THEM and don't watch a single one. Neither do I watch Strictly Come Dancing or X Factor or Big Brother, before you ask. Basically, there is just so much cheap rubbish on the TV it's hard to find something decent to watch, even with Freeview or Sky. I do however watch some England football matches (don't ask me why) also some Man U matches - quite happily.

Yes I think you have it horribly wrong but I concede you are by no means alone. Believe it ir not there are men too (myself included) who don't see the point of sitting and watching yet another game of 11 men each side kicking a ball around to see who can score a goal more times. Who cares, what point has it?

I prefer to see something with a story where the outcome means more than which overpaid footballer managed to kick a ball more times into a net.

I hate the way football monopolises the TV in the season, shunts to another time things that other people enjoy watching on a regular basis.

I hate the way people watching football at public venues cheer and shout without regard for anyone who just wants a quiet drink or a chat with friends.

At least there are alternatives to the programs you listed that you don't like but football takes over all chanels and gives to alternative choice to those who are not interested in it.

I don't think football is so bad. However, I don't live with any males who watch it very often, so maybe that's why.

You are right though, it could go both ways. I know a lot of females who watch far more tv than males, but the males don't seem to care as much about how much of what is being watched.

It's silly really. I think maybe the women are just jealous because they feel as though the men are spending more time (or perhaps enjoying themselves more) watching football than with the women.

Look, if you don't like something, do you keep quiet about it? If you really do, then point that out to her, and work a deal on how much time each of you can spend watching something the other doesn't care about.

Then both of you take up hobbies you can do in some other part of the house, away from the TV, and when she is watching "her" programs, you indulge yourself in your hobby. (If it makes a lot of noise, put it at the far end of the house or out in a shed.) And when you are watching your football or other shows she doesn't like, she can indulge in her hobby. (Again, noise factors.)

If you also like to watch movies and other shows together, that's great, too.

Also, one reason to dislike football is if you get into shouting at the TV and throwing popcorn around the room and like that. I'll bet she does not behave like that while watching soaps.

I was going to say fascist pig but then I would be accused of being the spell police. So Fashist pig will do, though you do have a very good point, we women can be somewhat demanding. However, it sounds better if I call you a name, I wouldn't want you to think that I have turned soft.

I hope you can make sense of my answer and all of this without a drink.

Because most women, by nature, crave attention. Just pay attention next time you hit a party or a nightclub; The girls are just BEGGING to be noticed. They simply need that attention fix. So when a man pays attention to something other than her (be it a car, sports, another girl, etc) she freaks out. It's just the way it is. With a little practice, you can usually learn to tune them out.
