I think if you think too much you will over analyse the situation. A higher education? Well, maybe a little higher than the sixth grade... but not much.

You likely do not require higher education for many security guard jobs. The holder of a doctorate could surely find a position somewhere in the security industry, though I doubt it would be as a posted guard.

SECURITY GUARD?? heck no. just a g.e.d. is all that is required. they make just little over minimum wage.

no. You do need specific training in various areas though.
