Ok, since you asked for Anime characters, I shall write about Anime characters (not characters from any animation)
Well, my current favourite in the handsome/bishounen category is:
Abarai Renji from the Anime, Bleach.
Well, obviously his looks are one of his great attributes. Long bright red hair (and there is just something about Anime men with long hair that makes me melt ^^), the most fascinating body art I have ever seen (on an animated character) that seems to extend all over his body...the tatoos...just give him this air of danger...of risk...this something that appeals to the primal senses...and of course, his strength and love and care and loyalty to his friends is an added bonus.
That is why Abarai Renji...is my choice...

There are ones who at face value are irresistable and others who, when you think of them, make you melt. Are we weird to think make believe characters are hot?

Well i say this from observance. But the most handsome pretty boy would be Sesshomaru. And from recent pictures i seen of his mother. He definetely got most of his looks from her.
In accordance to Prettiness. That would have to go to Floone from Disgaea (the anime). I would say Yuuko from xxxHolic. But shes more of the sexy variety.

Male: A tie between Nicholas D. Wolfwood from "Trigun" and Jin (I think) from "Samurai Champloo."
Female: Probably one of the girls in "Angel Sanctuary." Though I love and admire Yomiko Readman, from "Read Or Die," partly because the name of the show kind sums up my attitude to life.
