They are both great, but Simpsons have been around longer and are a little more family friendly...whereas Family Guy is a bit more risque which makes even a hardened Simpsons fan like myself think....
'Holy Sh!t...they can't say/do that on TV.'
but I love that they do. They are both hilarious shows.

The Simpsons - Its funnier on so many more levels. It's also a classic and has a history.
Family Guy's pretty funny, but nothing compared to the Simpsons.

I like Family Guy for its bluntness with situations.
The Simpsons is more family-like and friendly.
