Science has proven there are very slight differences between people of different phenotypes, yet people ( americans mainly) still believe in separate distinct races. I'd like to believe it's a lack of education but I think it'e deeper, what do you think?

I think you are Americanizing a world issue...And I strongly disagree with it. I also believe it is obvious that their are vast differences in races and cultures. I also think its great that there are differences.

There are slight differences, true. I think the problem is people need to appreciate the differeneces. I would not say Americans are the only ones who believe in distinct races; though, they have more hang ups with them.

Lack of education is a real reason for hatred, and I think a real lack of proper experiences, as well. Most white bigots for example never work or socialize with other races. I have seen people of all backgrounds in the military, and I have seen people from small towns really grow socially after being exposed to others from varying backgrounds.

I also believe we have to stop living in the past. Not to say forget about it, but we are not the people who are ancestors were.

Things are getting better, I have seen it in my 39 years, and it will continue. I think the bigger problems are going to be the ones we are ignoring - drugs, social moral decay (not that I am a conservative nut job), lack of integrity and loss of a real work ethic. Especially the last one.

Slave traders promoted the term "Race" to justify the entrapment and sale of other human beings for their own gain, by deliberatley de-humanising them and convincing people to view them as inferior than themselves. The term fell into common usage and now can be used, albeit incorrectly, to describe people from different areas of the world, such as ******* race, mongoloid, etc. The ironic thing is that all humans originated in Africa, and we would all have been dark skinned, but changed over the years to accommodate different climates etc. So, like it or not, we all have the same blood, going back 100,000 years or so. In a few thousand years, who knows, we might all be coffee coloured again, God willing.
