It was for me. I graduated with a B.B.A. in finance (3.4 gpa) 5 years ago. Have I found a "professional" job? No. I've just been working as a landscaper making $8/hr.

I probably send out 50 to 60 resumes a week. Personally, I don't know how much longer I can keep doing this to myself. Sometimes, I just want to throw the towel in and quit.

If your college has a placement office, check with them or find a local employment office and check there. If its been five years, I'd be looking at my process. Does your resume need some fixes? Is there something in your interviewing style that is getting in your way? If you have a friend that hires people for a company, ask them to look over your resume and run a mock interview with you to check what tips they might give you.

Also look at the level of job you've been applying for. Are you picking positions that truly match your education and experience? Can you get more experience by volunteering with a local not for profit agency?

I hope any or all of this helps you. Good luck!

Well I am not graduated yet, but I am going for my Associates Degree in Information Technology. But I would say that you A.) should have looked at the projected job statistics before getting your degree in that field, and B.) after graduating you should have researched which areas of the country need people with your profession.

I would suggest looking in other states for employment if you aren't already doing so. Relocating may be the only way to put that degree to some use and make your lifestyle a bit more comfortable.

College wasn't a waste of time for me, even though I have never worked professionally in the field I have a degree in. I do think it was a waste of money but fortunately I didn't go to an expensive school and all my expenses were paid for by a trust fund. College helped me to challenge myself to do things I never would have done, like public speaking and statistics. I learned a lot about myself, even if a lot of it was negative. I think if I had stuck it out with my original major I would have gotten much more out of it but it's too late to change the past. All either of us can do is try to find ways to apply what we learned to the lives we live now. Education is good for more than just earning a living.

A degree is just a tool like a hammer it depends on what YOU learn with it and do with it. The problem is that you ignored the bible, the most important book in education. It teaches how to live, eat breath and even tips on wealth. When i started to follow people were begging me to work for them ,i still have places i can work if i wanted to. It`s about who you know. I know the KING OF THE UNIVERSE. He takes care of all my needs and some. I met alot of millionaires who based their principles from the bible, and don`t have nadda education. They are ripping this book out of colleges, what a shame because it`s the most important book.
