I am getting my ear pierced at the top in the cartillage. Which side: left or right, is the best one? What does it sybolize? {if anything}
Also, is it fashionable to just get it pierced on the cartillage? Should i get my ear lobes done too?

It doesn't necessarily mean anything whichever side you get it pierced on, i think it used to, but now that only applies to nasal piercings...
If you only wanna get your cartillage pierced, then why not? It doesn't mean you must get your lobes pierced too. If your not so sure about it, then just get what you wanted. If you change your mind about the lobes, you can always get them pierced later. But if you get them done when your not really sure about it, then you could regret it and have to take them out.

Hi Sattie, I'm not sure that it "symbolizes" anything right now? However, the cartilage does take a bit longer to heal. I used to pierce ears when I worked at a salon many years ago. The #1 complaint from customers (who pierced their "upper" ear) was it was prone to infection, because of the lengthy healing time. I'm sure nowadays they have better equipment IE; smaller needles, better cleaning products etc. So, I say go for it! I think it looks nice with a small rhinestone stud or a small gold/silver hoop. XOXO Moonpie
