Things haven't change a bit sinse then compared to 50's and 60's esp during the segregation period. Georgia, is the most racist state I know, and mississippi too. I think it's really racist everywhere, things havent changed, martin king did have a dream, that all whites and black would be sitting at the table together, well that dream did come true, because we do have alot of interracial marriages more than we did back in the day. I think now statistically, even the "majority" will disagree with this. but minorities are now becoming the majoritities....

I can't say that it's better ,or worse, it's Just Different.
in our current climate racism is still prevalent, but because of recent events the focus has shifted, where once it seemed it was a black and white issue, now it seems racism is more pointed at Arabic or Mexican people. I'm sure as time passes Racism's focus will shift again. I also see quite a trend in what I call reverse racism, the black people who were so oppressed through Americas early years now feel they have earned the right to be racist against white people.
Face it, As long as there are people, there will be racism.
Sad but true I'm Afraid.

I think Racism has gotten worse in the past 10 years, partly due to 9/11 and the way Republicans are playing up people's fear of "foreigners." Partly its due to our misguided belief that we have stamped out Racism in the US since the 90's. Until we start to see All people in the world as people instead of numbers or third-worlders or things beyond our borders, until more governments practice tolerance rather than defining foreign nations as economic, political or physical threats, I'm afraid that Racism in the US will only get worse.

Neither. It's still in existence and not going away. I have a problem with that! I don't know what's worse, blatant racism, or the hidden, fake the funk--smile in your face prejudice. I have a problem with those individuals who say that racism isn't an issue anymore. Just because they're not forced to think about it or be reminded of it daily, they're so closed-minded to those who deal with racist nonsence day after day.

I don't know, it is hard to say. Just when you think we have made strides one way, then something else happens. All we can do is pray to God and do our part to dissolve it. May God Bless
