We have been friends for over 2 years, I lived with him and his family for 5 months to help them financially. I have spoiled him many times, clothes, food, movies, games, etc. Alot of his family members and my family and friends think its weird that we are friends, and want me to stop being friends with him. I just want to make him happy and have a better child-teenage life than I did. Thanks for the answers!!

of course you should!!! if your best friend and you had fun together then you really are best friends and if other people say you shouldn't then they aren't your friends it is your choice but i think your friendship is worth more that what people that arn't your friends think. Good luck!!:)

I've found that alot of younger teens seem more mature than their age, I see no problem in being friends with someone younger than you, as long as it is not sexual.

When I was 19 I meant a girl that was 15yo, and she was telling me where she lived and everything. I went to her house and we hung out and I even stayed the night a couple times, I'm gay so her parents never worried that we would do anything. To this day I'm still good friends with her and we still have sleep overs. I'm currently 24 and she's 19 now.

Yeah there is no reason why you shouldnt stay friends with him. I wouldn’t throw away a friendship of several years just because a some people think its odd, whose business is it to them whom your friends with? In a few years when he's older the age gap wouldn’t look that big.

Yes. Just because you are older doesn't mean you can't be friends with someone. This is a good thing. You can teach him and not let him make any mistakes. Don't worry about what other people say. I'm sure he doesn't. I don't think it's weird at all. You are aloud to be friends with whom you please.

Yeah for sure. I don't like to say it but Duh!!! Who cares what other people think. And I frankly can't understand why 'a lot of people think it's werid'. That's just wrong. Those people should mind their own business.

Anyway, it's not wrong for two people to be friends, regardless of age difference. As long as the two of you have common interests and just 'click', then there's no reason to not be friends. Besides, who ever ended a friendship just because of what other people think?

Cherish your friendship. don't end it over what you think others think of you and your younger friend.

don't give a crap what people think..if you leave him for that reason...he will hate you, you will show him that being shallow is okay...you are a mentor to him..you will see things before him, and giving him advice on things are the best one can do...if all young people had someone decent to look up to...as he has in you.....everything would be better for children....
