#4: Your restaurant preferences... How do you feel?

As a rule. If the restaurant has a "cashier, server or Manager", or table tents,,I don't go. That is usually an indication that you will be served crap and treated like crap. (really that is not meant to be offensive). You are better off at a restaurant with a Maitre'D, dining room Captain, and front waiter and back waiter (and most importantly a separate wine menu). Usually, any and all complaints (if any) are satisfactorily resolved by the Maitre'D even if you complain to anyone else.

D. No one. It's pretty hard to get me unsatisfied with the service unless it's absolutely hopeless . . .or unless they committed the ultimate restaurant mistake and put a waiter on the counter instead of a waitress. In such cases, I just don't go back.

It is according to what I am unsatisfied with.
As long as it is not the server causing a problem, I tell them first.
If it is the server, I tell the cashier who will get the manager.
And, of course, it all depends on how big the problem is whether I do anything at all.

If it is the server, then I would request to speak to the manager. If it is the cashier - same thing. In fact, come to think of it - if it is bad enough that I want to speak to someone about it, the manager is the best bet no matter what the problem. After all, anyone else you talk to probably can do nothing to resolve the issue and it is best to make the manager aware of the problem.
