In the past Europeans did control global affairs. Apparently they didn't do a very good job of it...... Europe should be paying for the mess it has created in the global world. It surprises me how so many Europeans bash America! Don't you realize that Europeans help create America? It seems as if the student (the USA) has surpassed its teacher (Europe) and now Europeans are a bit afraid or jealous.....

We did, for 500 years of bloody warfare. Eventually, the rest of the world wised up and won't let us anymore. I don't see a happy ending coming for Cheney and Bush's plan to turn America into a 19th Century European-style empire, either.
