The Amazon rain forest is absolutely vital to the health of this planet.(It is said that every 6th breath you take is air from the Amazon) But, more and more, we see an increasing trend of corrupt politicians in Brazil allowing it to be destroyed at an ever increasing rate. Do they have the right to rob us all of this valuable natural treasure just because it lies mainly within their border? They are proving to be incapable stewards of this forest, but the rest of the world seems powerless to stop the destruction their greed is causing! Can we trust the political will of the Brazilian people to clean up their government and start to protect what many feel belongs to us all?

Your concern or put it another way our concern agitates
me to the point where I distrust all politicians but hold on,
after what I have said about global warming, Blair took the
subject up.Mayhaps our beloved Retard could also take
his butt away from his game in the War room to influence
the Brazillian Government. A coupla of Billion dollars
should be able to buy the whole forest. A fraction of what
it takes to have the troops in Irag and Afghanistan.

there is also a very endangered Rainforest Natives over there
it may even be to late as far as their home goes because it's been a few years ago now since I saw the documentary about them
it is so sad how it is allowed to happen today now that the world knows better & nothing is done to stop it.
It's going to get worse when all of China & India have cars & that is now starting to happen

Sadly, yes. That's the nature of territorial international law. They control the land and the resources within their borders.

The only option, other than political pressure, is to invade, topple their government, and install a puppet regime that does what we want. Sound familar?

Under our current system of nationally held property we have NO rights to stop anyone from doing anything with the land they have.

you are right on tripwire but someone said it above that it is their land and they can do with it what they want legally. however, sadly to say that with our image trashed world wide by the bush administration we would not be welcomed to supposedly help them out with this issue anyways.
