I want the original, 14th century versions. I do not want Disney washed crap, I have discovered that the originals are darker, and better.

No, in the real story, the girl gets eaten. There is no lumberjack to save the day. I also read that he serves the grandmother's flesh to the girl. Or something of that nature.

If you want anything earlier than the Grimm brothers, you need to check a bookstore that has rare books. Even then you probably won't find anything as they were oral traditions and Grimms were the ones who complied them in written form for the public.

Don't forget the story's of the french writer Perault some are from him...
Books of the 14th Century are very rare, you best go the the library or of course here the Internet.
Yes indeed the real versions are more scary and actually not written for children but for adults(remember at that time there was not TV).Disney made them more child friendly.

There is a book called Grimms complete fairy tales(or something like that)LOL.
anyway...it's full of all the stories the way they were originally written...
like the lumberjack kills the wolf and cuts granny out of his stomach...and stuff like that..it's really cool.

Grimm's fairy tales have a lot of the originals, including Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel and Snow White. Here's a bunch of them:

Add: OK, you don't want Grimm. I know they didn't write them, but they compiled them from many sources. Here's a resource site:

no one knows which are the original since they were mostly from oral traditons, grimm brothers were fairly early but still they watered it down, the real thing would terrorize children , but thats what they were meant to do, to keep kids in line. or the boogie man will get you. totally sick.
