Yes, you do want to run 91 or higher octane gasoline!
Octane rating is a measure of the gasoline ability to resist detonation. Since a supercharged engine will product more heat, this higher octane gasoline will help control the heat so your engine will not detonation...and detonation will distroy your engine.
I highly suggest your read the link I have posted for my sources, so you can read in detail on this subject. The more you learn about this subject the less likely you will cause harm to your engine.

Use the fuel as recommended by the factory. A SC motor usually requires a higher octane fuel (91, 92ish) to reduce knocking and pinging. Your motor will run like crap if you use a lower octane fuel.
Also, the quality of the fuel is not directly equivalent to the octane rating. You would NOT want to run 91 octane in a car designed for 87, and vice versa as the factory tuned the emissions and overall drivability with the suggested octane in mind. Too many people make the mistake of running too high of octane in their cars and totally destroying their emissions systems.
If you want quality fuel, buy name-brand fuel from a station that has clean facilities. Also, do NOT fuel while a tanker is filling the fuel reseviours at the station or shortly after as all the sediment in the resevoirs will be mixed up into the fuel and into YOUR tank.

As with any stock vehicle, Only use the recommended octane fuel. Lower octane fuel will robb you of power, effeciency, and increase your emissions. Higher octane fuel only costs more and does not add to the performance or efficiency of the motor at all contrary to popular belief. Higher octane only prevents pre-detonation or "spark knock" in higher compression engines and is not in any way "more powerfull" gasoline. Remember, the manufacturers of the vehicle know what fuel it needs to perform its best and meet emissions requirements and the motor has been tuned to use the fuel they recommend.

Premium is necessary only if the owners manual says you must use it. All cars have this information in the owners book in the glove compartment in the car. If the book says regular, the car is designed to run on regular and premium should not be used.

Use a higher octane fuel. I'm not sure if they make any supercharged cars at all. Trucks yes.
Whats wrong with a simple turbo? these days they make them with variable geometry so they work at all rpms.

Your car will run and perforn on the cheaper fuel but not as well. Also your systems will get more dirty faster. The benefit to using higher octane fuels is the performance and cleanliness of these fuels.

You can use whatever you want. The best thing to do for the longevity of the vehicles fuel system and economy is use only the best stuff. That goes for all cars. The better the fuel the longer the fuel system will last.
