Why does the song say ''Father Abraham had many sons, I am one of them, and so are you"?
I thought only Jews and Arabs were decendants from him??

Actually, you are correct. The muslims come from his wife Hagar and his first son whom he kicked out and God's angels protected. Then the Jews came from his "main" son through Sara(h). The reason I say "main" son is because this is the child through whom Christ would later be a descendant of and he is listed as an ancestor of Christ Jesus, that is why this child is the important one.
Christians are indeed considered "the seed of Abraham." However, not in the physical sense, but in the heavenly or spiritual sense. We are inheritors of Abraham, to be "numbered among the stars" meaning that just like the stars our numbers are to seem great as his spiritual descendants. So christians are Spiritual Israelites, not real Israelites.

If we are all decendants from the beginning (Adam and Eve) then wouldn't we also be from Abraham.

God promised abraham that he would be the father(spiritual father) to many nations gen12:1-4. god was not just referring to the phyiscal descendants but everyone who believes in Jesus Christ.Gal3:7.
please if you read the book of Galatians 3 & 4 in the bible you would understand it better.

Almost everyone on earth can trace part of their blood back to Father Abraham. He had Isaac, who had Jacob (Israel) who had 12 sons, and it goes on from there. MILLIONS of current people on the earth are descended from the line.

It has nothing to do with Judaism or Christianity but the faith of one man and how he helped to set in motion the acceptance of millions to come to God as a humble child..
