Stevie Ray Vaughan is my fav.
Eric Clapton is considered blues and one helluva a gutiar player!
Albert King.
John Lee Hooker...Boom Boom Boom Boom..
You have a wonderful topic about which to learn more! Good luck!
They say Jimmie Rodgers---the father of country music
And Elvis Presely---the king of rock and roll
both learned a lot from Mississippi Blues artist.
BTW, Jimmie Rodgers and Elvis are both Mississippi boys!
There's a Chicago Blues movement.
And an England Blues Movement.
I think The Who and The Rolling Stones were influenced by the blues...and as I said Eric Clapton who was in about four different rock bands.
There's a recording studio in Clarkesdale, Ms called Delta Recording Studio and it's ran by Jimbo (something) from the Squirrel Nut Zippers.

I would highly reccomend blues musicians Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Johnnie Lee Hooker. Also in the blues-rock genre Jimi Hendrix did some amazing blues numbers in the vein of "Since I Been Loving You", check out "Hey Joe" "Voodoo Chile" "Castles Made of Sand" "Bold As Love" "Dolly Dagger" "Fire", etc.
One of my current favorite blues-rock barnburners is The White Stripes "Ball and a Biscuit", do yourself a favor and download it immediatley.

Listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan. Ry Cooder is good for some older type blues. And to hear some awesome blues stuff. . . .Check out the Crossroads ( NOT britney spears) movie soundtrack. Steve Vai and Ry COoder do some good stuff in that.

As a bass guitarist in a band myself I would recommend :
Stevie Ray Vaughn !!!!
Jimmy Page ! -Good Taste you have there ! Lot's of bluesy tunes to choose from them !
Robert Cray
Kenny Wayne Shepard
John Lee Hooker
Eric Clapton
David Gilmour from Pink Floyd ! What he can do by bending ONE note is awesome .He gets so much bluesy feeling from his technique !!
That should keep ya busy for a few !!
Good luck in your jamming !! You can do it !! :o)
