I agree that some answers are curt, and some are quite blunt. Dont be so sensitive ! It simply reflects the different types of people in here. Some will be very matter of fact and tell it as it is.
Some of us know the power of a kind word. After all, we are no more perfect than the asker of the question. Nah ! Far from it.
The simple truth is that each one is here to listen to you. Sort of like a family within your computer. Some are obnoxious, some are mean. Its a huge family. And you cant choose family.

I totally agree with you. Alas, there are rude and arrogant people wherever we go unfortunately. It is annoying though, when a valid question is asked, and people do not take the time or effort to give a decent answer. Isnt it maddening when you ask a question and people give one word answers just for the 2 points. Couldnt you just scream when some people answer with: Whatever, or: Dont know but thanks for the 2 points etc..
There is a vast difference between telling it like it is and being blatantly rude!!!! Is not what you say but how you say it that matters. Some people have no consideration for others. They have no manners or morals. Especially when they know that children go on yahoo answers. They are not setting a good example at all.

i know what you mean. i think there should be a '3 strikes and you're out' rule enforced, just so to cut down on the amount of rude, offensive and narrow-minded people using this site. a lot of people use answers just so they can get other people's opinions, or some advice, but there are also others who wish to abuse this service for their own benefit and post nasty comments as and when they wish, and that's wrong. i wouldn't worry about it though. rather you give the answer a thumbs up or down and move on. though the truth of the matter is some of the vile stuff that they say on here, they wouldn't probably have the guts to say in our faces in public. which goes to show how shallow and spineless these people are really.

Good Question. I think that it is just a simple case of "Corresponding Demographic". I.E. Percentage of rude people in the world factored down to percentage of the real world on line, unfortunately Cyberspace mirrors the world but to a lessor degree. Technology created an instant feedback situation, that excites certain types of personality disorders. Fortunately for us, some of the worst offenders don't know how to use technology beyond pen and paper.

I know what you mean there are people who do come on here to insult and slag of others. Having said that if someone asks a stupid question my answer may be critical. I dont apologize for this. You dont like rude and arrogant people. Me neither. So it is okay with such people to tell them what you think.

I hear you sister! I also believe that if you dont have anything thats helpful to add then dont waste your time responding! Its fine to have a joke but when it gets nasty its out of line! There are a lot of people on here that are asking for genuine advice about some serious issues and people should not answer rudely when they have no idea the impact they are making.
Im sorry I cant answer your question but I had to say you are not alone! I share your view and I make sure I answer thoughfully, especially when answering sensitive questions.
Take care and have a good week.

This is true and it's also true elsewhere on the Internet, like some Usenet groups. Truth is that there are some sad people who wouldn't dare say anything like that in real life otherwise they'd end up with a smack in the mouth. But behind the protection of their keyboard ...

Because people on here are simpy a cross-section of Society as a whole, with a bias towards teenagers, many of whom have less politeness and respect than many of their older counterparts

When the truth is said its always rude and arrongant. The best way to be a better person is to learn from criticism and accepting the truth how ever harsh it may be. wen asking a question u need to be open to the diff kind of answers u get as remember they are frm diff people with diff views.
