all things magic. Elves come from the wishes and hopes of little children all over. Once, a long time ago.....when all the children of the world had wishes and hopes, but nothing to make them happen, the elves came....when children would hope for anything, or wish on a star, these things all went into the air. They ended crashing into each other and it made the elves. The elves only knew the wishes and hopes of children, so they started putting these things to reality and made them for the children. Be it toys, clothes, or simply a hug when thats all the elves could give them.
If you are of a christian variety, you can add that God gathered all the hopes and wishes of children and made elves out of them. Cause God needed help with everyone in the world, and what better way to help with the children, than to make everything they want into a magic creature to give it to them.

You see one day Santa was taking a stroll and he heard some beautiful music coming from behind a rather large willow tree. (Cause it doesnt always snow at the north pole) When he went to investigate he saw a tiny person there.
"Wow who are you ?" Said Santa
" I am an Elf " stated the little man proudly.
" An Elf ?" Santa was very confused. He had never seen one of these before. He immidently began to think of how this man could help him.
After a couple of minutes of small talk Santa asked the Elf where the rest of his people were. Where they came from ? And how did they happen upon his village.
The Elf replied. " We are created from childrens imaginations."
Way back in 1860 a small child was talking to himself and wished he had his own friends because he was new in town and had no one to play with. What seemed a simple request cause history in the making. But trouble was abrewing....... once the boy grew up he no longer needed his new friends and stopped believing. The Elfs slowly began to vanish. The Elfs begged the boy to believe again. Once the boy saw what pain he was causing he began to spread the word about the little people. One by one the magical creatures began to repopulate.
Elfs come from the hearts of the innocents. Pure magic, imagintion and dreams.
Santa quickly became friends with the Elfs and invited them back to his home. When they saw all the good Santa did for children they offered him some help in return for a safe haven and a permanate home.
Little did Santa know....that little boy was his Grandfather ( Walt Disney )
The End

Well, first off the question being, "Where do Elves come from?" They come from Mommy & Daddy Elves, just like the rest of us do. They are human too, a little different, but mammals nonetheless......Sure you could go into the story of Elves are from here or there, (folklore, etc.) but seriously.....Other than the North Pole and their parents, where the hell else would they come from? Don't mean to offend anyone with saying hell and Santa in the same answer, ok =)... So tell me, what do you tell the children? I can't wait to hear what you tell the kids.......Tell me, Tell me, Tell me Santa, where do Elves come from? ?? =)
~PEACE~
Thanks also for being a Santa where you live...;-)

I would just say the North Pole. Children ask simple questions, and accept simple answers. They aren't looking for the birds & bee's stuff. They already accept the magic of Santa, they'll accept the answer that, that's the way it is. They come from the North Pole.

They are a select few that didn't get employment with the Keibler Cookie Factory. Top candidates are recommended to Santa for review and possible employment making toys instead of cookies.

elves, try to learn english, santas elves were most likely from the forests of germany, however elves have been a part of folk tales in most all of europe and even some elf like characters appear in the orient and other places. however they are not all considered good characters.
