with today's technology, why is the music soooo loud while the dialog sooo quiet in all the big screen movies? While the concept may work in the theater, watching a movie at home has turned into an acrobatic exercise which requires precise timing and lightening speed reflexes. Do movie producers never watch movies? Are they totally unaware of the public sentiment? Am I the only one who finds this situation annoying, perplexing and beyong comprehension?

No, I think almost everyone shares your sentiments. I also hate when you are watching TV and then the commercial comes on an blares at you. So annoying, it makes me turn the mute on. Now how is this effective advertising?

Diddo!! Movies and TV shows. When the background music? is so loud and intrussive you can't hear dialog or instructions or anything else, what's the point in watching. Music was originally intended to "set the mood" of a scene, but now I think sound engineers like to see how much noise they can make!!

only when youre watching dvd's right? that means your sound system isnt right. What i usually do is unhook either one of the red or white audio cable from the dvd to tv, it helps abit. I know there's nothing more annoying than when the sound effects drown out the actors voices.

Nope, you aren't the only one who noticed...I've noticed too when they have previews before your movie (even on DVD, damn advertisements, can't get away from there ANYWHERE), they are louder than the movie is too...

I think it's a conspiracy to make us all deaf!
