The Shining, The Stand both by Stephen King. His books don't seem to translate well into movies. I don't know if they are too complicated and long or if the screenplay writers or directors just don't get it.

now how could someone put down ALL of Stephen King's books.
Have you seen "The Green Mile"? that was a work of art. book and movie. Its a wonder how American Beauty got any awards over it.

but as for my main dislike, id say Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. This was terrible done. It reminded me of John Grisham's The Chamber when it became a movie.

Both movies skimmed the book, didnt really tell the story how it should have been told. Too much was left out.

Dreamcatcher! I'm still upset that they ruined Stephen King's work like that. One of the twists (which was not in the book) ticked me off badly. Read the book and then see the movie and you'll understand what I am talking about. The novel was awesome, great story, great characters but the movie was just watered down and didn't do Stephen's work justice.

King comments are right on the money. His books are fantastic but are awful on the screen - his characters have so much inner dialog that it's got to be impossible to do it justice on screen.

I was supremely disappointed in the movie Cold Mountian. The book was so rich, and while they tried to stay true to most events in the book, the movie was cast COMPLETELY wrong for the female leads.
