i'm not perfect, but me and my g/f work hard for the few things we have and it's all ours. our car is our lifeline, we need it for work and the few times in the year we can get away to relax. anyway last year because some scumbag could'nt manage to steal the car (heavy duty steering wheel lock) he decided to smash the windscreen instead. could somebody please explain the mindset of such a person because even the thought of knocking over a neighbours milk bottle is an alien concept to me.

ta for all the answers, the car was fixed within 2 hours at our expense. the town i live in has no drug addiction as such (drug dealers have been killed by vigilantes) there is social deprevation but some of my former classmates were known car thieves who's parents were both teachers, so social deprevation isn't the definite answer. to steal for neccessity maybe could be understood, but to steal or damage private property just for the sake of it isn't understandable. my town has a cancer where scum steal cars and rake the crap out of them before setting fire to them just for "fun".

I understand you fully, and have had the same thing done to my car.

I live on a council estate in NE England - it's a bit depressing but it was all we could afford. Over the years we have tried to improve the house and garden with what little bit of money we could put by. Not being too immodest, I would say that the house is now one of the best in our street - because of our hard work and hard earned cash.

Over the years we have encountered no end of trouble from people seemingly determined to stop us improving our gardens and house - people stealing flowers (and even an entire hedge) in the night, mud being thrown, sh it being thrown, car windows broken, windscreen wipers snapped off, pot plants stolen (even when screwed to concrete) grafitti on walls - only last night we had a whole tub of what looked like cream cheese smeared all over our windows.

Through it all we've tried to maintain the house and gardens, and continue to do so. The attacks are not as frequent now, though they still occur on a regular (monthly) basis.

My wife and I put it down to pure jealousy. The perpetrators are layabout scumbags - who I'm afraid to say are in the majority here - who think they can never have what we've got - so why should we have it - that kind of mentality. It doesn't occur to them that I work hard, day in day out to earn money to buy the things I need - they see earning a living as a weakness. They think that we think we are above them in some way - but we are just a working class family with a different mindset. They steal and damage and abuse to dishearten those who try to improve their lot - therefore making them stop. They want their houses and gardens to look like rubbish tips, they don't want to work - they want every state benefit going, they have no pride, no principles and no brains.

I often have the same reaction to you and think how can some people act in such a hurtful, selfish way! But then I try to remember that it is only SOME people that act this way, not the whole of society. I like to try to spread some happiness and kindeness in little ways, picking something up for someone if they drop it, smiling, saying thank you and treating all people with respect. Hopefully then this will help others feel positive and spread some kindness instead of anger!

I really hope you can manage to get your car fixed and know that Im a good person out in the world who would have reported the thief is I'd witnessed it!
Have a good week :)

Let us start at the beginning! Governments have taken our rights away to give our kids a good swift kick up the backside when they play up! Then you've got the do-gooders! "Oh! you mustn't hit the poor little fifteen year old" whose bigger than you f###ing are!! Then we'll mention the mums! And the dads 'If their still around" that don't give a stuff! What their offspring are up too! Or, even where they are!!!!! Then we'll come to the law courts! Magistrates who continually hand down slap-on-the-wrist penalties to these little sh###ts knowing full well that they'll re-offend just to pay the fine!!!! The reason? Because the government do not want the expense of paying to keep the little shits in jail!!! And that! In my opinion is what is the matter with society! 1.Get lasting marriage back on the books. 2.Don't make divorce too easy to obtain. 3. Let parents do the disciplining as it used to be! so that you knew that if you stepped out of line then there was dad to face when you got home! It never hurt me!!!!!

People have become selfish and greedy. We live in a society where everyone seeks attention. Everybody wants to be looked at. Look it me, look at what I've done, look at want I have, and you are not anything unless you've done what I've done to get what I've got. We as a people came from people who gave our attention to other things, like gods, whether god is mother nature, our inner selves, the Hebrew God or Jesus, and have turned EVERYTHING into a popularity contest. People have turned life into a game. Game as in monopoly. Have you ever played Monopoly? Compare it to life. Before "civilization" came people were content with dancing around a fire, meditating and caring for their friends and family. Ever hear of a "sore loser"? Look at this for example. What is a game? A game is two or more people oppossed aiming for the same goal, to win. now what is an agruement? Two or more people aiming for the same goal, to win! In either case you have a winner and a loser and sometimes a draw. Losing can and will make "sore losers" angry, and we all know what can and will happen when people are angry. I played board games with people who wanted to mess up the game, (flipping the board game, cheating and helping others cheat) just because they lost. How much more angry would a person react to losing in life? We live in a world were people have to have ourselves and what we do be seen and our opinion heard. Life, lets just say, has been turned in to a game, and the game, just like any game creates arguements. Look at any sport and you can see that there will always people arguing over the way people play the game. Look at hockey, baseball, football, boxing, there is always drama. People think that what they have gets them to where they want to go, so they can be what they want to be seen as. Like, you have to have something(money), so you can get what you want(school) to be what you want to be(doctor). Why? So others can see that they are immportant. Look at me, I'm somebody. The question isn't why do people do things like that, but why do people think that it is right to think that what they have makes them better them others. I think it is because most people never learn who they already are.

I think such people are in a lot of pain. You might say that we are in pain too, but we don't go out and trash people's cars. But I guess we just all react differently to the experiences we have in life, and for some there is such a sense of meaningless and feeling angry, hurt, unloved, useless, bored etc ~ and their way of reacting is to declare war on society. I think, at a deep level it is all a cry for help, for recognition, and especially for love. Sometimes, when positive and peaceful ways don't bring us the attention we need we go all out and gain that attention in negative ways. After all, negative attention is better than no attention at all.

Look at children, for example. They will test boundaries and in many cases, if they aren't given the understanding and loving attention they need to develop and thrive, then they will behave in unacceptable ways in order to gain attention.

To behave in destructive ways reflects a lack of self esteem and self love. I have a personal belief that our children (and other people in general, especiall when they are affecting our life) are simply mirrors to that which we need to address and heal within ourselves. Perhaps we need to look at how much self-esteem and self-love we have for ourselves. If we feel badly about ourselves (however well we manage to hide it) then our children and/or other people in our lives will reflect this.

this a-hole is probably a crackhead or arm junkie that has no idea what they r doing only thinking about that next "fix" they aren't even what i would call human beings, but with todays society we try to rehabilitate them even though they will never contribute anything whatsoever besides pain & suffering i have no tolerence or compassion for these animals i dont think we could ever exterminate them however we could sterilize them and place them on an island with all the free drugs they can overdose on, this is only one option and could use some refinement but removing them from productive society seems only practical, this also applies to all the corrupted personalities in govt.and corparate CEO's ripping us all off of our future world

Explanation: Society is comprised of people. Poverty exists. Children are neglected. Governments place their metaphorical hands over their hypothetical ears. Individuals don't believe they can make a difference in the world so they don't try. Alcohol, drugs, gambling (place addiction here) also exist. People are beaten, sexually, mentally, emotionally, and financially abused.

People refuse (or don't have the skills to accept) personal responsibility.

All these things (among so many others) contribute to the things that happen in our lives.

Luckily, there are people like you out there who are conscious and capable. Please do the world a favour, and make sure you pass it on to your children.

Materialism, and lack of respect among different etnicities. Mostly, concerning only in material things, rather than others. Another great problem that has always been...is people making other people do what they want. That would be a nice theme for a song. I hope this helps

That guy has no idea who you are and what your life is like. All he cares about is his own life and what he's going to do next. He has no concern for you or your girlfriend. He doesn't know you. Therefore, he doesn't care. Out of sight, out of mind. Don't take it personally because it's not. It's not like he chose you for some brilliant or logical reason. He just needed the car. And since he couldn't, he got so angry (probably at himself) he decided to leave his mark.

Just take a deep breath, be happy you care about humanity, and move on.
