Yes they are !Their popularity should only continue to rise ! They are a cool band and like to do "cover tunes" as well ! Apparently they are good ! :o)

As of July 2006, McFly have had ten top ten singles in the UK Singles Chart and two number one albums, their debut being Room on the 3rd Floor followed by Wonderland. Their third album, Motion In The Ocean, is due to be released November 6, 2006.

They also starred in the teen comedy film Just My Luck with Lindsay Lohan, which was released in the US on May 12, 2006 and in the UK on June 30, 2006. They play themselves in the film, the soundtrack features a variety of their songs from both albums plus their latest song "Just My Luck" at the time. McFly held a concert at the London Hammersmith Apollo on May 19, 2005 which was used in the film

McFly here is sort of like Westlife here in America. Some people know of them that love music all over the world, -- but most mainstream (which I guess basically means tons of people listening to the group on the radio, etc) -- don't know of them. Wish Westlife and McFly and all that were popular over here though - - am jealous of people overseas / friends that can say they've seen a concert - - because who knows if I'll have money or time to get over there for a concert etc.
