This happens to me all the time ('02 Ford Explorer SportTrac). Usually happens b/c the wheels aren't locked. I have a really hard time if I park too close to the curb or tire stop, and my tires can't turn. Very aggravating, but just stay calm. Forcing it won't work, and getting pissed at it is even worse (although it will help YOU feel better!). Best thing is to make sure your front tires are free of obstruction on the sides, so that they will turn if you move the steering wheel, but won't roll forward. Shift the transmission into neutral (if you can), push your car a little bit, and then put it back in park. Turn the steering wheel until it locks, then try to turn the key again...

Turn the steering wheel to the left. While holding it in that position turn the key. That will unlock it. If that doesn't work. Turn the wheel to the right and do the same thing. If that doesn't work. Turn the wheel all the way to the left and rock it back in forth just a tad while turning the key.
Good luck!

Hell mine is stuck and my key it worn out to the point it won't unlock the steering. Any answers for that anywhere on the net? Nooooo. Only answer I get is call a lock smith. If I had the money to do that I would have done that 2 days ago.

You can unlock it by forcing the steering wheel, even just a little, in the only direction it seems to turns slightly easier, and while doing that turning the key.
