I do, both on the palm and the back of my left hand. It's usually my to-do list and written in whatever color ink is handy at the time. I prefer ultra-fine Sharpies over other pens because the ink has just the right amount of durability; it doesn't wash off too easily, but it's also not difficult to remove.
Nothing is written on my hands right now. I work with rats in a psychology lab and I don't want to transfer the writing onto their fur, so I got a planner. I prefer my hand because I can't accidentally leave it somewhere (or if I do, I have more important things to worry about than my to-do list! :D).
I used to have so much written on my hand at all times, though, that people would actually try to read my hand. I didn't like that, because I was using my hand as my planner and I didn't look through their datebooks. So sometimes I would write fake entries on my list to disturb them. It would read something like, "study for physics exam; biology quiz tomorrow; kill the innocent; buy chicken for supper", etc. It amused me greatly to see the looks on their faces when they ran across the fake entry. And it always stopped them from reading my hand for a while after that. :)

Yes I write on my hand.
I have no colour preference - I use whatever comes to hand. (you asked for that one)
Nothing is written on my hand now.
I write on my left hand as I am right handed.
I do it because I have erratic mental processes (OK I am disorganised and have a bad memory because I get side-tracked a lot) and I can and do lose pieces of paper and I have never (thus far) lost my hand. The other useful thing is people will ask what you have on your hand and why and this helps to remind you what you needed to remember.
I put notes on my hand to remind me to do something that needs done at a later time, perhaps on way home from work or at a certain (later) time.
For example, notes might read "milk bread" "pay insurance" "petrol"."ring Dr" "take tabs"
When my children were small I would also write on their hands when they went to school. Their notes would read (typically) "coat" "shoes" "homework" - all the things they were likely to forget to bring home.
**I only write on the back of my hand - I don't know why - perhaps better visibility. Actually when I think about it I have a definite aversion to writing on the palm of my hand - how odd.

I trace all the lines on my palm with any pen i have available. It's usually when i'm bored. I think i prefer bright colours, like pink or red or orange. Makes it more interesting.
And i usually do it on my left hand since i write with my right.
And nothing is written right now...
Sometimes i'll write notes though and phone numbers.
The main reason (as stated above) is boredom but the other reason is that i love it. I think hands are the most expressive parts of the human body seen by the naked eye. It helps to decorate them.

I write important memos to myself on my left hand (being right handed!) with black or dark blue pen. My reason is this just helps me remember things better than writing them in my diary or saving a memo on my phone. Sometimes I don't want other people to know exactly what I'm reminding myself about, so I'll just write initials (like P to remind me to collect a prescription, CC to remind me to pay my credit card bill, etc).
There's nothing written there now, the last thing was the non-emergency number for my local police station which I obtained by phoning someone else and had no time to look for paper.

I used to, for emergency purposes, like I couldn't find paper, and I have to jot down a number quickly. Blue or Black. But I prefer red. Since I am right handed, then I write on my left palm. When I was younger, I used to draw faces (happy ones) on the back of my fingernails. Sometimes, there would be stylish hair bangs, sometimes with bandanna. Nothng is written on my hand now.

I like to write on my left hand in red ink. Red ink makes a clearer impression on my mind. I'm right handed and couldnt write on my right hand even if I tried. There is nothing on there now, but I usually write little reminders on my hand(b/c writing it on paper will only cause me to lose the paper and forget things immediately.) But sometimes, I draw angry little pictures on my hand to calm me down and keep me from saying stuff I'll regret. Yet no matter what I put there, it will always get wiped off accidently. Oh well.

only when I'm bored during class. I draw smiley faces and designs on my fingers with whatever writing implement I have in my hand at the time. Usually I write during literature, cause my teacher is really boring and he repeats himself a lot. I usually write on my left palm , cause I'm right handed. Nothing is written now. No reason exept for something to do.

I have not written on my hand since elementary school. I stopped doing it, when a kid in my class was goofing around drawing on his hand and somehow got the pen lodged into the top of his hand, and couldn't get it out. They had to call and ambulance, cause his mother could not get there fast enough. He came in a few days later with stitches and a huge ace wrap around his hand. Damn, thanks for bringing back those memories, it was gross then and it is still kinda gross to think of it now.

No, I can't say that I do. I have used the back of my hand in an 'emergency' to take down numbers etc, but not like the answerers above, and I wash it off as soon as possible afterwards as I believe the childhood 'lie' told by my parents that it would "seep into my blood and poison" me!
