I live in jacksonville, fl. There are certain theaters with no showings of borat. Why is this so?

The film was meant for limited release on November 3rd with wide release on November 10th. An advertising error had previews stating "In theatres everywhere Nov 3rd". Often more controversial films are slated for a limited release in large and test markets to determine if a wide release is feasible. Obviously it is.

It may be offensive to some. Some of the scenes are very gross. Made fun of Kaziskhstanis, jews, Americans, Muslims and evangelicalls. In a speach that he is giving at a rodeo, since he does not speak English so well, Borat says I support your war of terror instead of war on terror. He makes fun of Iraq war. Mostly the movie makers made fun of Kaziks.

My dad is an exec at a movie theatre company (Cineplex Entertainment, but it's not big in USA). They didn't buy films for each theatre because they aren't sure if it will do well or not. They figure it will either end up being retarded and nobody will see it, or it will attain a huge cult following a la Napoleon Dynamite.

Because of media publicity showing that it is being sarcastic towards other races. In that case, why isnt Bush banned.

because is not a big production....i think it also depends where you live because here in los angeles is in every theater that i have checked
