live life to the fullest, tell others stories of love and joy, travel the world. but most importantly try to make someone smile at least once a day, it makes you feel good about yourself and it makes other people feel good about them self. this is the greatest gift of the whole world.
you should also watch the movie "pay it forward" to see how a young boy who didn't think he ment anything changed the world, and touched many peoples lives.

Be kind. One small act of kindness makes a difference to one person, this may have a chain reaction affecting many people. If everyone just did one thing to help someone and each of those people went ahead & did something for someone else, eventually it would span communities, countries, the world. As Mother Teresa said "We can do no great things in this world, only little things with great love."

you won't be ordinary if you change the world, would you?! people who changed the world (assuming for the better) at some point of their life was ordinary until the changing happened.
ordinary people may change the world when they least know it, this happens.
i think that lots of love and believing and will are required to change the world.

Recycle
Do unto others as you would have done unto you.
Be nice.
Play fair.
Vote.
Educate yourself.
Raise healthy, intelligent, well-adjusted children.
Rarely can one person change the world on their own (Hitler would be one example, Napoleon, etc)and usually obvious change is not the good kind. Everyone has to choose their life path, whether it be by teaching kids how to help themselves or how to read, or by raising your children to be good people, or actually making change through the political system by writing letters, running for office, supporting a good candidate for office etc.
I believe that our purpose in life is to make a difference, maybe not on the whole world, maybe just for one person. But we live through the contact that we have with others. That is what we are here for. To help others, whether directly or indirectly.

start with yourself!
Hundreds of others will feel it and benefit from it. I believe that we are all connected, so working on yourself is working on the world, and vice versa, working, helping the oothers is working on yourself as well.
If all of us make our small steps in this, if we simply do them even if they look small steps, then we are doing what we should do...we are changing, helping the world. This is what I think. and this is how I live. and belive me, it truelly workd and it gives me so much energy and will to continue.
In answering one of your other questions I mentioned NVC. This works for me a lot. I helpes me in my personal life, when I teach, when I talk to people and so on.
I would really like to know how to encourage you in your efforts to do something about the world we live in. I want to tell you that you are not the only one, and that there are a bunch of us working on the same thing.
I wish all the best.

Do one act of kindness, and in return just ask that the person that you helped or was kind to in some way do something kind for someone else. What a great world it would be if we all did at least one kind thing for someone else. Doesn't take much to make a difference.

an ordinary person change the world? you yourself are doing it!keep asking the questions you are asking..i checked out your profile and i think it's great that you are posing questions that make people think.
great thinkers of history have inspired change..one small deed can most definitely make a change (the pay it forward theory as posed in the first answer) and this seed is planted by the process of thought, debate, and action. you are contributing to this and making a change, and so are all of us who take the time to respond.
if we can get people thinking we can get them to want to make a change.
thanks for making me think...again : ) i already was a nicer person and went out of my way at work tonight to make a difference

The ordinary person probably can't change the world. But he/she can try as hard as possible to improve his/her corner of it.

One person can't change the world because the evil and destruction that is so rampant stems from an attitude of a large group of people.

You can do lots of things. Right now I am selling teddy bears for a good cause. The teddy bears are christmas presents for children at the center in my state for battered women. They will go there kids. I know that by doing that I have helped peoples lives. It's not much but if I get kids to smile that is worth alot to me. Go to your local foodbank and help sort food. It might not seem like you are doing a whole lot, but you are. Small things like that are good for people who are good citizens to do.
