It's working better than other societies. Divorce rate is extremely low.

Mine was an arranged hindu marriage, see what happens sometimes, since you can never know the background of a person in an arranged marriage.

well i am just happy to be an American where i could choose my spouse. i could not and would not marry a man of my parents or elders choice. they can choose for you but they don't haft to live with the person so i guess there job of choosing is easy huh ?

I think there is nothing wrong with if both people are accpeting of it. I think there is a possibility to have a happy and fufiling marriage in this case.

this i heard too,and so it is custom for India to do so . but i know of liberal parents too, that alow their children to marry someoneelse than the one they chose for them . Also the divorce rate is very low in India
