Being an indian ,I knw that our country is very rich in tradition and family values. We respect our parents and elders.Considering these values and respects ,we always give our first priority to take decision to our parents and elders only. So,before we decide anything which will prove good or bad for us ,we like to put our parents decision first.Whether we go for arrange or love marriage

I feel (as an American) that each society has a set of norms that are good for them to live by. In my culture, to find "true-love" is what we try to achieve. In your culture, having a family memeber-matchmake is totally normal. I feel it is a bit controling and outdated(no offense seriously) but if it good for whoever follows arranged marriage, then it can't be wrong!
