Iraq is currently the single most important issue to me. Our strategy needs to change quickly and in a way that will help the Iraqis take over security of their own nation and thus allow our troops to concentrate on helping NATO in Afghanistan. This strategy change should include anything and everything up to, but not including, leaving before Iraq is able to maintain its own security.

I would say they both matter. First of all the war in Iraq, much like
Afghanistan, will only leave a hole in a country not socially prepared for democracy and simply pave the way for extremest groups such as the Taliban to gain control of the country through voting. Corruption will run rampant and we will feel wonderful for bringing this great form of government to them, not paying any attention to the aftermath because hey, were focusing on Iran now aren't we. Secondly taxes. Taxes pay for needed services. Roads, education, police, firemen, and yes even the army. To continue to spend billions of dollars over what the government make in taxes is to simply make money out of thin air. We have been borrowing money that doesn't exist and all that does is drive inflation. Money will slowly become worth less and less until we are in post war Germany where you bring a wheelbarrow of money to the store, take an arm full in to buy a loaf of bread, and go outside to find that the wheelbarrow has been stolen and the money left. I really have no problem paying taxes and think it ridiculous in a time of war to insist on lowering them. Taxes have always gone up in times of war.

Iraq. People are dying.
But even without Iraq ... I'm not even close to a millionaire in the top 1% of wage earners ... so the tax cuts Bush has instated ... and which the Dems threaten to repeal ... barely affect me at all.
What does bother me is the deficit ... effectively borrowing money from banks to pay for those tax cuts. Guess who gets to pay that back? Not me. Not this President (that's the next guy's problem.) Not my generation. But you kids out there. Whenever you hear the word "deficit" understand that it means the current generation borrowing money that you have to pay back ... with (you guessed it) your taxes.
Borrowing money to pay for a tax cut for this generation, is *raising* taxes for the next generation.
Enjoy, kids!

I have to say both, so let me explain this to you. The illegal occupation in Iraq was nothing but a sham! Too many people were killed unnecessarily! And not to mention the war was badly mismanaged from the very beginning! To exacerbate things any further, our tax dollars have been constantly pumped into this very brutal quagmire of Bush's! That's why our money has been wasted on this **** there! Guess who has to keep footing that ******* bill? That's right-we, the taxpaying public!

Iraq. Our children are dying in Iraq because of mistakes, rumors, half-truths, and flat out lies.
Taxes are necessary to pay for the services we expect our government to provide. For example, how long would you be willing to go without getting the potholes on your street fixed? If the city didn't bring in revenue from taxes how could they be expected to pay for the repairs? Would the homeowners on your street get together and find a fair way to pay for it themselves. Somehow I doubt it.

Iraq because it directly effects taxes. With all the tax money we've wasted over there we might as well be throwing it into a large furnace because it would just be a lot quicker
